Artist Arnaud Savary finds inspiration all over Monaco. The talented artist from Nice loves the “cosmopolitan flair”and the “successful mix of old and modern architecture”. Whenever he is in the princely city, he never misses a walk to Monaco’s landmark “Le Rocher” – a huge rock surrounded by a park that houses the princely palace and the medieval old town.
The cathedral where Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly were married in church in 1956 is also located there. Other highlights of “Le Rocher”: the Miséricorde Chapel, built in the 16th century, which impresses with its baroque appearance and a reclining figure of Christ, as well as the Oceanographic Museum, whose aquarium is home to more than 6,000 animals. And all those who want to feel close to nature will enjoy the gardens of Saint-Martin,.
Arnaud Savary only paints well with his heart
“I have always been fascinated by Monaco. It’s a world that represents something special for everyone”, Arnaud explains to me his passion for the Mediterranean City state, which is reflected in his coloured drawings.
Just like the positive messages of the born artist. “I only paint when I really feel good. My goal is to reflect the beauty of God’s works in my paintings.”
And that can be a natural landscape, a building from the Romantic period or a religious situation, to which he sometimes adds individual text messages. The main thing is that he feels something in his heart.
One traumatic experience moves him to this day. “As a young man in Paris, I barely survived an attempted murder. At the time, Islamist terrorists tried to cut off my head.” But they could not take away his courage, his irrepressible will for freedom and his great talent. Lucky for all those who can admire his works every day at the Marché du Cours Saleya in Nice.
By the way, personalised drawings (e.g. you in front of your favourite building on the Côte d’Azur) are available for as little as 100 euros. Just email me klaudija@loving-monaco.com (I’ll be happy to forward it then) or Arnaud Savary directly via facebook to inquire.
